An implant bridge using 2 implants to replace 3 teeth is £4,495. On the NHS in England, bridges fall under Band 3, which is £332.10. Prices

How much is a tooth bridge at Toothi?

Our prices are listed on our fees page. A bridge is priced per unit, from £595 a unit, and your exact figure is in your written plan once your dentist has assessed the teeth either side of the gap.

TreatmentToothi price
Crown or bridge (per unit)from £595
Implant bridge: 2 implants replacing 3 teeth£4,495
Single dental implant including crown£1,995 (CBCT scan not included; taken at a referral imaging centre and paid to them directly)
Recement crown, bridge or veneer (excluding implant work)£125
X-ray£15 each

A unit is each tooth that makes up the bridge. In a conventional bridge, that means the false tooth filling the gap and each natural tooth that has a crown to support it. The number of units depends on the design your dentist recommends.

Comparison

Dental bridge cost: NHS vs private

Toothi is a fully private practice and does not provide NHS treatment. The NHS charges below are the official figures for England from 1 April 2026.

NHS (England)Toothi London (private)
Conventional or adhesive bridgeBand 3: £332.10, when clinically necessaryfrom £595 per unit
Implant bridgeNot usually available on the NHS£4,495 (2 implants replacing 3 teeth)
MaterialsChosen on clinical needDiscussed with you at planning

The NHS Band 3 charge covers the course of treatment, whatever the number of units. Bridges on the NHS are provided where clinically necessary. Private prices vary between practices, so it is sensible to compare published price lists and ask how many units your plan involves.

Types

What types of dental bridge are there?

  • ✓  Conventional bridge. The teeth on one or both sides of the gap are prepared for crowns, and the false tooth is joined between them. Strong and long-standing, but it involves shaping the supporting teeth.
  • ✓  Cantilever bridge. The false tooth is supported from one side only. Used in particular situations, often at the front of the mouth.
  • ✓  Adhesive (Maryland) bridge. A false tooth with a thin wing bonded to the back of a neighbouring tooth. It usually needs little or no drilling of the supporting tooth, and suits certain front-tooth gaps.
  • ✓  Implant bridge. Supported by implants rather than natural teeth. At Toothi, 2 implants replacing 3 teeth is £4,495. It avoids shaping neighbouring teeth but involves surgery and a longer treatment time.

Price Factors

What affects the cost of a bridge?

  • ✓  Number of units. A bridge replacing one tooth with two supports has fewer units than a longer span.
  • ✓  Bridge type. A conventional, cantilever, adhesive or implant design each involves different work.
  • ✓  Health of supporting teeth. If a supporting tooth needs a filling, root canal treatment or gum care first, that is priced separately.
  • ✓  Material and position. Front teeth need close shade matching; back teeth need strength for chewing.
  • ✓  Imaging. X-rays at £15 each help check the roots and bone of supporting teeth.

Process

What’s included in a bridge?

01

Assess

We examine the gap and supporting teeth, take x-rays if needed and explain your options.

02

Prepare

For a conventional bridge, the supporting teeth are shaped under local anaesthetic and impressions or scans taken.

03

Protect

A temporary covering is usually placed while the laboratory makes your bridge.

04

Fit

The bridge is tried in, adjusted for your bite and cemented in place.

A conventional bridge usually takes two main appointments a couple of weeks apart. The price covers preparation, laboratory work and fitting. With good cleaning, including under the false tooth, many bridges last for years, though lifespan varies from person to person.

Value

Bridge or implant: is it worth paying privately?

An NHS bridge meets clinical need at a set charge and is a sound option where it is available. People choose private care when they want more choice of design and materials, an implant-supported option, or more appointment flexibility.

The bigger decision is often bridge versus implant. A bridge is usually quicker and avoids surgery, but a conventional bridge involves shaping neighbouring teeth. A single implant including crown is £1,995 at Toothi and leaves neighbouring teeth untouched, but takes longer and is not suitable for everyone. Our guide to dental implant vs bridge sets out the trade-offs, and missing tooth replacement options covers dentures too.

Common Questions

Dental Bridge Cost FAQs

How much does a dental bridge cost privately?

At Toothi London a bridge is priced per unit, from £595 a unit, and your exact figure is in your written plan. An implant bridge with 2 implants replacing 3 teeth is £4,495. Private prices vary between practices.

How much is a bridge on the NHS?

In England bridges fall under Band 3, which is £332.10 from 1 April 2026, when clinically necessary. Toothi is a private practice and does not provide NHS treatment.

What is a unit in a dental bridge?

Each tooth that makes up the bridge is a unit. That includes the false tooth filling the gap and each natural tooth crowned to support it. Your plan will show how many units your bridge involves.

Does a bridge cost less than an implant?

It depends on the number of units and the design. A single implant including crown is £1,995 at Toothi, and a bridge is from £595 per unit. Your dentist will give you written prices for both options so you can compare.

How long does a dental bridge last?

Many bridges last for years with good care, but it varies. Cleaning under the false tooth and around the supporting teeth, plus regular check-ups, makes a real difference.

Does getting a bridge hurt?

The teeth are numbed with local anaesthetic before they are prepared, so most people feel pressure rather than pain. Some sensitivity afterwards is common and usually settles.

Can a loose bridge be recemented?

Often, yes. Recementing a crown, bridge or veneer, excluding implant work, is £125 if the bridge and supporting teeth are sound. If not, we will discuss options and quote in writing.
