The headline fee is only one part of comparing dental implants in Turkey with the UK. At Toothi in Edgware a single implant is £1,995 including the implant, abutment, porcelain crown and every review appointment, and aftercare is close to home. For treatment abroad, add flights, hotels, time off and however follow-up is going to work. Here are the factors side by side, so you can compare like with like.

The Real Comparison

How do dental implants in Turkey compare with the UK?

Implant treatment uses the same basic method everywhere: a titanium post is placed in the jaw, the bone bonds to it over a few months, and a crown is fitted on top. What differs between clinics, in any country, is what the quoted fee includes, how treatment is staged and what happens if you need help afterwards. Ask any provider about those, here or abroad.

  • ✓  What’s in the fee. Is the crown included, or only the implant post? Is the abutment (the connector) included? Are scans and reviews extra?
  • ✓  Which implant system. Ask for the brand and keep a record. Any dentist who later maintains or repairs your implant will need to know it to source compatible parts.
  • ✓  How the treatment is staged. Implants normally need a healing period before the final crown. Ask how many trips are planned and how long apart.
  • ✓  Who looks after it afterwards. Ask what happens if a screw loosens, the gum becomes sore or the crown chips, and who you would see.

At Toothi

What does a UK implant at Toothi include?

At Toothi a single implant is a fixed £1,995, and that figure covers the finished tooth rather than just the post. The only separate cost is the CBCT 3D scan, which is taken at a referral imaging centre and paid to them directly. See dental implants in Edgware for how treatment works at Toothi.

Cost Factors

What does dental implants in Turkey cost once everything is added up?

Overseas clinics publish a wide range of prices, and packages vary a great deal in what they include, so we don’t quote foreign figures here. Build your own total instead. A fair comparison adds up everything you’d actually pay to end up with a finished tooth that’s looked after.

  • ✓  Travel for every stage. Implants are usually done in at least two stages: placement, then the crown after healing. That often means two return trips.
  • ✓  Accommodation and transfers for each trip, and for anyone travelling with you.
  • ✓  Time off work. Count the days away, not just the days in the chair, plus recovery time.
  • ✓  Extras not in the package. Scans, bone grafts, temporary teeth, the abutment and the final crown are sometimes priced separately.
  • ✓  Aftercare at home. Reviews, hygiene visits and any fixes you may later need from a UK dentist are paid for here.

Safety

Is it safe to have dental implants in Turkey?

Many patients have implants abroad without problems, and good dentists practise in every country. The risks specific to treatment abroad are mostly practical rather than clinical: distance from the dentist who placed the implant, compressed timescales, and the question of who handles follow-up.

  • ✓  Healing time. Bone usually needs a few months to bond with an implant before the final crown is fitted. Ask whether the plan allows for this.
  • ✓  Complications after you fly home. Swelling, infection or a loose component are usually best seen by the dentist who did the work. Ask how that would happen and who pays for the travel.
  • ✓  Regulation and redress. The General Dental Council regulates dentists working in the UK. Treatment abroad is covered by that country’s rules, so check the dentist’s registration there and how complaints are handled.
  • ✓  Records. Ask for your scans, implant brand and size, and a written summary, so any future dentist can help you.
  • ✓  Flying after surgery. Ask your treating dentist how soon you can fly, particularly after work near the sinus.

Time

How long does implant treatment take, abroad or at home?

From placement to final crown, implant treatment typically takes around 3 to 6 months, wherever it’s done, because the bone needs time to heal around the implant. At Toothi that time is spent at home: each appointment is a local visit rather than a trip, and reviews fit around work. Read how long implant treatment takes for the stages.

Common Questions

Implants abroad FAQs

How much is a dental implant in the UK?

Fees vary between practices. At Toothi in Edgware a single implant is £1,995 including the implant, abutment, porcelain crown and all reviews. The CBCT scan is taken at a referral imaging centre and paid separately.

Is it safe to have dental implants in Turkey?

Many people have no problems. The main practical risks are distance from your treating dentist if a complication arises, timescales that may be compressed, and arranging follow-up. Check the dentist’s registration, the implant brand, and how aftercare will work before you book.

How many trips do I need for implants abroad?

Usually at least two: one for placement and one, after a few months of healing, for the final crown. Some plans add further visits for grafting or checks.

Can a UK dentist fix implants done abroad?

Often, yes, particularly if you know the implant brand and have your records. At Toothi we can assess overseas implants; where a case needs care beyond what we provide, we refer you on.

What should I ask an overseas clinic?

Ask what the fee includes (abutment, crown, scans, reviews), which implant system is used, how long healing is allowed, who handles complications after you return, and whether you’ll get full written records.

Do I need a CBCT scan for implants?

A 3D CBCT scan is the standard way to check bone volume and plan placement. At Toothi it’s taken at a referral imaging centre and you pay them directly.
