What actually determines the price
Four things move a veneer quote up or down, and it’s worth knowing which apply to you before you compare practices on price alone.
Material. Porcelain is lab-made, more stain-resistant, and generally lasts longer — commonly 10–15 years against a routine relining or replacement. Composite is built up directly on the tooth by the dentist in a single visit, costs less, and can be adjusted or repaired more easily, but wears faster.
How many teeth. A single veneer to fix one chipped or discoloured tooth costs far less than a full smile makeover across the visible front teeth. Per-tooth pricing usually drops slightly as the case gets larger, but the total obviously scales up.
The dentist’s skill and the lab used. Veneers are as much about shade-matching, symmetry and the underlying tooth preparation as they are about the material itself. Dentists with a strong veneer portfolio, and the labs they work with, tend to sit toward the upper end of the range — and it typically shows in the result.

For a fuller, more permanent smile transformation across several teeth, porcelain veneers tend to be the better long-term investment.
How long do veneers last?

Composite veneers and bonding typically need polishing or refreshing every 3–7 years, because composite picks up stain and wears at the edges faster than porcelain does. In both cases what shortens the lifespan is rarely the material — it is grinding, nail-biting, opening things with your teeth, and skipping hygiene appointments. If you clench or grind at night, a nightguard is usually part of the plan.
