How much does bonding teeth cost per tooth?

£195 per tooth for edge bonding and £295 per tooth for a composite veneer. Which one you need depends on whether you’re changing just the edge of the tooth or the whole front of it.

  • Edge bonding (£195 per tooth) adds composite to the biting edge or corner of a tooth. It can level a worn or uneven edge, rebuild a small chip or square off a pointed corner. It’s the lighter option, and after Invisalign it’s often all you need. See composite edge bonding.
  • Composite veneer (£295 per tooth) resurfaces the whole visible face of the tooth. That means it can change the shade, close a gap or rebuild the shape across the whole front surface. See composite veneers.

How much is composite bonding for 4 teeth?

At Toothi, four teeth of edge bonding is £695 and four composite veneers are £1,095. Four teeth usually means the upper centrals and laterals, the front four that show most when you talk. It suits people whose canines already look fine.

How much is a full set of composite bonding?

A “full set” usually means the “social six”: the six upper front teeth visible in a normal smile. Six teeth of edge bonding is £995; six composite veneers are £1,595. Some people extend to eight or ten teeth because their smile line shows more: eight composite veneers are £1,995 and ten are £2,395.

Not sure how many teeth show when you smile? That’s the first thing we check at the consultation. If fewer teeth would get you the result you want, we’ll say so.

What changes the cost of composite bonding?

How many teeth are treated. Bonding is priced per tooth, so the total goes up with the work. There are package prices for 4, 6, 8 and 10 teeth.

Edge bonding or a full composite veneer. This makes the biggest difference: £195 against £295 per tooth. It depends on what you want changed. Plenty of people only need the edges done.

Whether anything needs doing first. Bonding is placed onto healthy teeth. If a tooth we’re bonding has decay, inflamed gums around it or a failing filling, we sort that out first. It’s priced separately on the fees page. A check-up (£55) tells us where things stand before we agree a cosmetic plan.

Whitening timing. Composite can’t be whitened once it’s on, so if you want lighter teeth, whiten first. Whitening is priced separately: in-practice Boutique whitening £250 or home trays £350.

Protecting the result. If you grind or clench, a nightguard is £195 and helps protect the bonding.

Composite bonding vs veneers: how do the prices compare?

At Toothi a composite veneer is £295 per tooth and a porcelain (E.max) veneer is £895 per tooth. Composite is built up on your own tooth by hand, usually in one visit, and can generally be reversed. A porcelain veneer is made in a lab. It needs some tooth preparation and two visits, and it typically lasts longer.

For a chip, a worn edge, a small gap or a shape tweak, bonding is the sensible place to start. You can still go to porcelain later. The full side-by-side is in composite bonding vs veneers, composite vs porcelain veneers and on the veneers cost page. If you’re weighing up the spend, see is composite bonding worth it?

How long does composite bonding last?

With good care, composite bonding can typically last around four to seven years before it needs polishing, a top-up or replacing. It picks up stains more easily than porcelain and can chip if you bite hard on it. Red wine, coffee, smoking and grinding all shorten its life. A nightguard and regular hygiene visits help, and so does not using your front teeth to open things. More in how long does composite bonding last?

Can I pay for composite bonding monthly?

0% finance over up to 10 months is available on treatment over £250, which covers every package above. You’ll have a fixed written quote from the consultation before anything starts.

What is the difference between edge bonding and a composite veneer?

Is composite bonding available on the NHS?
