What Are Crowded Teeth?
Teeth crowd when there isn’t enough room in the jaw for all of them to sit properly, so they overlap, twist or turn. It can be a couple of teeth or the whole arch, and it ranges from mild to severe.
Most people want it treated because of how it looks, but it isn’t only cosmetic. Crowded teeth are harder to clean, so plaque builds up more easily and the risk of decay and gum disease goes up.
Can Invisalign Treat Crowded Teeth?
In many cases, yes.
Invisalign handles a wide range of orthodontic problems, mild to moderate crowding included. A series of clear, custom-made aligners puts gentle pressure on the teeth and moves them, bit by bit, into a better position.
You wear each aligner for around one to two weeks, then move on to the next one. Each set only moves the teeth a little, but over the course of treatment those small movements add up to a clear difference in how your teeth line up.
