Book now – choose your time

An implant-supported bridge replaces several missing teeth in a row using implants at each end instead of your natural teeth. At Toothi in Edgware an implant bridge on two implants replacing three teeth is £4,495. Longer spans are priced on assessment, because the number of implants depends on the gap and your bone. The consultation and written plan are free.

How It Works

What is an implant-supported bridge?

An implant bridge is a row of connected crowns held by implants rather than by natural teeth. For three missing teeth, an implant is placed at each end of the gap and a three-tooth bridge is fixed on top, with the middle tooth carried between them. It’s fixed in place, so it doesn’t come out at home.

So you don’t need one implant per tooth, and none of your remaining teeth are cut down to support it. It’s often the choice where two or more neighbouring teeth have been lost. For all the ways to fill a gap, see missing tooth replacement options.

Choosing

Should you choose an implant bridge or separate implants?

For two missing teeth that aren’t next to each other, two separate implants are usual (£1,995 for the first and £1,795 for a second at the same visit). For three teeth in a row, an implant bridge often does the job with two implants rather than three. Which is right depends on the length of the gap, the bone along it and your bite.

  • ✓  Fewer implants can mean less surgery and less need for grafting along the whole gap.
  • ✓  No natural teeth prepared, unlike a conventional bridge.
  • ✓  Cleaning is different. You clean under the bridge with floss threaders or interdental brushes, rather than between individual teeth.
  • ✓  Linked crowns. If one part gets damaged, the whole bridge may need repairing or remaking.

Aftercare

How long does an implant bridge last?

With good home care and regular reviews, implants can last many years, and the bridge on top may need maintenance or replacement over time. Daily cleaning under the bridge, routine implant examinations (£95) and implant hygiene appointments (£150) help keep the gums around the implants healthy. Common Questions

Implant bridge FAQs

How much is an implant-supported bridge in the UK?

Fees vary between practices. At Toothi in Edgware an implant bridge on two implants replacing three teeth is £4,495. Longer bridges are priced on assessment, and the CBCT scan is paid separately to the imaging centre.

How many teeth can an implant bridge replace?

A bridge on two implants commonly replaces three teeth. Longer gaps may need more implants; the number is decided after a CBCT scan and examination.

Is an implant bridge better than individual implants?

Not better, just different. It can replace several teeth with fewer implants, while individual implants are easier to clean between. We’ll recommend what suits the gap and your bone.

Is an implant bridge removable?

No. It’s fixed onto the implants, and only the dentist takes it off if it needs maintenance.

Do I need a bone graft for an implant bridge?

Only if the scan shows the bone is too thin or low where the implants will go. At Toothi a minor graft is from £395 and a major graft with a membrane from £995.

How do I clean an implant bridge?

Brush twice a day and clean under the bridge every day with floss threaders, super floss or interdental brushes. Regular implant hygiene visits help keep the gums healthy.
