What are the options for full mouth dental implants?
There are two main ways to replace a whole arch of teeth with implants. Neither gives every tooth its own implant, which is rarely necessary. A small number of implants carry the full set.
Implant-retained denture (removable). A full denture that clips firmly onto 2 to 4 implants. It stays put when you eat and speak, unlike a conventional denture, but you take it out to clean it. It’s usually the simplest route to a stable full arch, and the fee is fixed. More in implant-retained dentures.
Fixed full-arch bridge (All-on-X). A full arch of teeth screwed onto several implants, which only the dentist removes. It feels closest to natural teeth and has no plate over the palate. What Changes the Fee
What affects the cost of a full set of teeth implants?
For a removable implant denture the fee is set, so what varies is grafting and any extractions needed first. With a fixed bridge, more depends on your mouth.
- ✓ Bone volume. The CBCT scan shows whether there’s enough bone. If you need grafting or a sinus lift, that’s added to the fee. See bone grafts for dental implants.
- ✓ Number of implants. More implants are sometimes needed to support a fixed arch securely.
- ✓ Teeth to remove first. Simple extractions are £145 each and surgical extractions from £295.
- ✓ One arch or both. Many people need only the upper or the lower.
- ✓ Gum health and general health. We treat these first, so the implants have the best chance of lasting.
