The iTero scanner takes a digital impression of your teeth in a few minutes — no impression trays, no gagging — and produces a simulation of where your teeth would finish up. It is not a sales gimmick: it is the same scan the aligners are made from, and it is the honest way to find out whether Invisalign will get you what you actually want. Some patients look at the simulation and decide aligners will not go far enough for them, which is a perfectly good outcome from a free appointment.

Dr Ali El-Kabengi plans every case himself. If your case genuinely needs a specialist orthodontist — significant bite discrepancies, for instance, rather than crowding or spacing — we will say so and refer you rather than take the case on.

The part nobody mentions: wear time and retainers. Aligners work for 20 to 22 hours a day. Take them out for meals and hot drinks and put them straight back in. If you are realistically going to leave them out for hours at a time, treatment will take longer than quoted and the result will drift from the plan — that is not a scare tactic, it is simply how the mechanics work.

The second thing is retention. Teeth move for life. Whoever straightens them, you need a retainer afterwards, indefinitely — nightly at first, then a few nights a week. Finishing the smile. Straight teeth are not always the whole job. Once the teeth are in position, patients often want the edges evened out or the shade lifted. Composite bonding at £200–£350 per tooth reshapes worn or chipped edges without drilling healthy enamel, and whitening is £250 in practice or £350 for custom home trays.
