Composite bonding uses a tooth-coloured resin, matched to your natural shade and sculpted by hand, to rebuild worn or chipped edges, close small gaps and reshape uneven front teeth. There’s no drilling of healthy enamel and usually no injections. We layer the resin straight onto the tooth, shape it, set it with a light and polish it. Most people are done in a single visit.

What can bonding fix?

Many patients combine bonding with professional teeth whitening. Whiten first, then we match the resin to the new shade. For crowded or rotated teeth, a short course of Invisalign followed by edge bonding is often the basis of a smile makeover.

With sensible care, 4–7 years is typical, often longer. Composite doesn’t decay, but it can stain with heavy coffee, red wine or smoking, and edges can chip if you bite pens or open packets with your teeth. Unlike porcelain, it’s quick to repair: usually one short visit, no lab work. If you grind, a nightguard is £195 and makes the bonding last noticeably longer.

Edge bonding at £195 a tooth covers chips, worn edges and small shape corrections; a composite veneer at £295 a tooth resurfaces the whole visible face of the tooth, so it can also change shade and close gaps. • ✓  By car: from Mill Hill Broadway, take Hale Lane towards Edgware and you’ll reach Whitchurch Lane in around 10 minutes. From Mill Hill Village or the Ridgeway, allow a couple of minutes more via Apex Corner. Parking is available close to the practice.
• ✓  By bus: the 240 links Mill Hill Broadway with Edgware station via Hale Lane, and the 221 and 113 also connect the Apex Corner and Watford Way side of NW7 to Edgware town centre.
• ✓  By train/tube: from Mill Hill Broadway (Thameslink) it’s one short bus hop or a five-minute taxi; from Mill Hill East (Northern line), allow 15–20 minutes by car across the A41.
